Osage County Faith Community Nurse Project
In July of 2007, with a grant from the A.J. Schwartze Foundation, MSR-CRM began a pilot project. The project provides a Faith Community Nurse to a parish/congregation. The nurse is a paid staff member of the parish or congregation. Lucy Brenner accepted this position as the Faith Community Nurse in at Most Pure Heart of Mary and Assumption Parishes.
In December 2007, funding was also received from the Missouri Foundation for Health and A.J. Schwartze foundation to expand the project. Lucy became the Project coordinator, and the second Faith DCommunity Nurse, Tammy Kuscik was hired and began her ministry at the St. George Parish in Linn, MO. Funding for a third nurse in the county was also provided, and MSR is currently searching for another Faith Community Nurse.
